RV Dwellers & Edu-Kits

In April 2020 we launched the Edu-Kits program, which included educational resources for children under stay-at-home orders. Today, our packages include stress-relieving gadgets for teachers, internet extenders, and power banks enabling children to have a better online learning experience. We also provide food and gas-cards for RV families.

KSP also partnered with local organizations to expand our impact and advocate for RV families to help improve their living standards. This resulted in helping 12 families move into Palo Alto’s first Safe Parking Program, and transition to long term accommodation.

To date, we have delivered over 3,000 Edu-kits to RV children.

What your donation makes possible!

Jeremie was never able to join a school due to his parents having to move their trailers closer to wherever they could find a day job and comply with street parking regulations. As a result, he never learned basic skills that most bay area children learn in preschool and kindergarten. Since COVID, his mother decided to keep their RV parked on El Camino Real in Palo Alto with the hope to secure a day job whenever possible. Jeremie, his 12 years old sister, his 14 years old brother, and his 16-year-old brother with physical and cognitive disabilities have been receiving Edu-kits that includes food cards and other urgent necessities. This has enabled him to start interacting with educational materials on a weekly bases.  He enjoys every time a volunteer has time to read one of his new books with him. His mother reported that he is now coloring every day
